•○ Making the Grade ○•
"Back to school means back to work for teachers"!
This year Zebrulun Dinkins begans his third year as a fifth grade teacher teaching Social Studies. Dunkins has done the things that will show students how nice, respectful and a good role model he is. He has achieve to reach these three above areas to impress the students. He has made some of his lessons raps by delivering captivated students. He has also released an educational rap CD. On his first day of teaching he was sweating bullets, starring at the class for the first time and all those eyes looking at you. He says the first year is the hardest, because everything is new. From using the copying machine, going to the lunch room learning how to whole school culture work. It takes time and patience to develop the skills and get used to looking at the students and helping them and copying paper to grading them. After getting the flow you exactly what to do! He thinks that reading a sentence out of the text book, you can be creative and make that sentence into a song, this makes things funner and more sophisticating to students. He says that school is out at 2:25 but his day is barely starting, it's about time management but he most challenging part, you would want to focus on your time on working and helping them. He also says it's hard to find a time to do this because you have to go to meetings, workshops. He goes home deciding if he should go on or review what he taught that day, and he grades papers, calling parents making sure that everything is good. He says that the administrative stuff can drain you, it's unbelievable. He really pulls the kids to put the forth the effort to get the best grade, he don't reward them for being, he grades them all fairly.
